OligoScore
Evaluating the impact of gene-sets and/or transcriptomic perturbations in key biological processes involved in oligodendrogenesis and (re)myelination
In this website, we provide a resource (OligoScore) involving a knowledge-driven scoring procedure. This curation approach currently implicates around 450 genes for which loss-of-function and gain-of-function studies have demonstrated their requirement in the main processes of oligodendrogenesis that we categorized in: specification, proliferation, migration, survival, differentiation, myelination, and remyelination. Gene activities have been scored in each process from 1 to 3 (low, medium, strong) either positively or negatively (promoting or inhibiting, respectively), depending on the severity of gain- or loss-of-function phenotypes. The more than 1000 references used in the scoring are provided per gene and process. OligoScore intends to involve the scientific community working in oligodendrogenesis and myelin biology to update and improve its content (sending us corrections/updates for annotated genes with the Action link or for missing information about non-annotated genes using the Contact us link).
This resource can be interrogated either (1) by introducing a gene transcriptional signature (Gene Symbols) to assess its implication in different processes of oligodendrogenesis or (2) by introducing a list of deregulated genes (Gene Symbols and Fold Changes, logFC) to see their impact in each process.
